Operations Manager

Position Overview

The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day show events activities from the Boston Office, ensuring they are managed efficiently and effectively. This position is a functional manager with no direct reports and reports to the Managing Director of the Boston office.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensures technical staff delivers expected level of quality, organization, and interaction with clients
  • Assigns technicians and warehouse staff to pull/prep/pack shows
  • Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations
  • Ensures work environments are adequate and safe
  • Works closely with the team of Technical Producers to ensure timely communication with show leads
  • Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to the entire Boston-based team
  • Explores methods, policies, and procedures to maximize profits
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Superior functional managerial and diplomacy skills
  • Assists in policies and procedures to maximize use of the organization’s operating software
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

 Education and Experience:

  • 3-years of experience in technical event production as an A/V Technician, Technical Director, or Stage Manager role
  • Experience with IntelliEvent Lightning a plus

 Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds at times
  • Must be able to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends when required
