Founder and long-time company leader, Murray Lapides, has stepped down as CEO. Murray will be transitioning out of AVFX over the next few months after nearly 40 years.
Murray started AVFX in 1981 and has led the company through an extraordinary period of growth and advancements in audio, video, and lighting technologies. He has built a vital company widely recognized for its work throughout the meetings and exhibits industries. Succeeding Murray is Steve Halling, currently president of AVFX. Sarah Hearn will continue as general manager of the company.
As part of this transition, AVFX has partnered with Harbor Beach Capital, with Brian Urbanek leading the effort. Harbor Beach Capital is now the majority shareholder of the company, with the current AVFX management team remaining as shareholders. Steve Halling will be on the Board of Directors.
The investment from Harbor Beach Capital brings a new source of backing that will ensure AVFX has the means and capacity in place to serve its clients far into the future. Their investment represents a belief that AVFX has a unique culture and has developed into a platform for growth.

AVFX will continue on its current path, striving to provide clients with high-quality event technology and the services needed to plan and execute exceptional events.
