Interns — They Get It Done.

We’re always looking for good people and a great pool of new talent is coming from the Boston Public Schools. Frida is our first intern from Brighter Boston and she’s doing a great job.

Brighter Boston provides vocational training and paid internships in lighting and electrics to Boston Public Schools teenagers! It is their goal to provide high-quality career pathways and access to future employers.

Frida has committed to working 100 hours over the year and she’s hoping to learn more about lighting for non-theatrical events and network with the professionals here at AVFX. Long term, she hopes to go to college for “anything involving design, theatre, or filmmaking.”

Brighter Boston primarily focuses on lighting but the program is expanding to carpentry & set construction. AVFX feels so good about what Brighter Boston is doing that we’ve talked to them about expanding into video at some point down the road.
