Jack Emerson founded CEAVCO

In 1961, Jack Emerson founded Colorado-based CEAVCO Audio Visual with two simple goals: build a great place to work and deliver exceptional customer support. Throughout his career, he earned a lasting reputation for staying true to that vision and consistently doing what was right.

1981
Murray Lapides founded Media 1, Inc., (now AVFX)

In 1981, Murray Lapides founded Media 1, Inc. (now AVFX) to meet the growing need for high-quality audio visual and staging services. From day one, the Boston team focused on understanding each client’s goals and delivering exactly what they needed to succeed.

Murray’s vision pushed AVFX to the forefront of event innovation. The company became one of the first in the nation to introduce audience-driven technologies like projection mapping and large flexible LED tile displays, tools that are now widely used across the industry to create powerful moments and spark engagement.

1989
Matt Emerson joined CEAVCO

In 1989, Jack’s son Matt joined CEAVCO as Vice President of Finance. He became Executive Vice President in 2003 and was named President in 2013.

2000
Mike & Donna Evans founded AV Matters

Mike and Donna Evans founded AV Matters in 2000 with a vision to raise the standard for event production through expertise, integrity, and client care. Their work shaped a company rooted in trust, technical mastery, and a passion for delivering exceptional experiences.

2021
AVFX acquired CEAVCO

AVFX acquired Denver-based CEAVCO, expanding the company’s geographic reach. Following the acquisition, Matt Emerson was named CEO of AVFX.

2023
AVFX acquired AV Matters

AVFX acquired Orlando-based AV Matters, further expanding the company's geographic footprint.
