Webcasting & Video Streaming
Leveraging, not replacing face-to-face engagements, is the dominant trend in hybrid meetings using high-quality webcasting services. Event producers and meeting planners have seen an explosion of new technologies to share content with remote audiences. Webcasting services and video streaming are by far the most popular and effective approaches and AVFX is positioned to deliver excellent video quality.
Over the past few years, we have invested heavily in our video production and broadcast technologies in order to offer a range of services specifically for the purpose of webcasting live events around the world. AVFX delivers high quality video production values which makes for an excellent webcast no matter where it is.
We’ve summarized these services below.
The most critical aspect of webcasting or any recording of video at an event is the video production values. Even a modest webcast from a gymnasium can look like broadcast television with the proper audio, video and lighting.
On-site video production to capture your event with HD studio cameras and switcher packages are at the center of AVFX’s capabilities. We have been providing these services to clients for decades, either for documentary recording purposes, or for transmission via satellite or website use. We offer several package options that can be matched to the complexity of your live event.
Broadcast & Production Packages
Today, more than ever, connecting events to remote audiences through broadcasting hi-quality production is critical. It is nearly impossible to get everyone in the same place at the same time. Distribution of your event content via live broadcast (webcast) or posting recorded sessions to the web solves that problem. AVFX has a number of production packages that make this possible. Whether a single camera to simply document a presenter, or a multi-camera recording of a special event, we can provide the appropriate recording / broadcast package for your event.
We recognize that there are times when pricing is more important than image quality. That’s why we offer top-of-the-line switchers with the latest high definition cameras and quality solutions for budget-constrained applications. Our flexible configurations provide just the right system for your needs, and your budget.
We’re able to see, in real time and post-event, how many people are watching and how long they watched. Because can keep the video replay live, we can also see who visited the page later to watch all or part of the broadcast after the original date.
We can also get data on what types of devices people are using to view the webcast. We can see what domain they watched it on, or what domain referred them there. This is useful for clients who might setup different portals for different members of their community, but only want to host the stream on one site.
We also get geographic data, though this may not be as accurate as some other data, since IT services for corporate clients may route traffic through various locations based on their network setup. It is helpful to see roughly where the audience is. It can also be used as a security feature, we can blacklist certain countries down to zip codes, to protect the broadcast.
Encoding / Uplink
For the more common webcast events, AVFX can provide the technology and talent to perform the encoding and uplink. Larger events, or more critical events, might warrant bringing in specialized equipment and personnel to accomodate multiple simultaneous streams for geographies and/or language translations.
Video Streaming Services
AVFX will either coordinate with a service provider you have selected, or through our contracted service provider, LiveStream. You can learn more at www.livestream.com/.
Downlink / Viewing
On the viewer side, there are several options for how people find and view the content. The basic AVFX plan used with LiveStream allows us to use our “channel” on the service to host the webcast. That page can be branded to your company and/or your event if desired.
Management of a webcast includes two primary tasks – security and measurement. Security options are driven by the webcast service provider, so AVFX works with the provider to ensure the proper level of security is in place. For measurement, we will work with the data provided to present a simple picture of the metrics you are seeking to measure against.
