Lighting Technician Opportunities

Position Overview
We are looking for a lighting person to fill out our lighting department. This person would maintain and operate our studio lighting equipment, maintain our lighting inventory, pack lighting for shows, lead the installation of small lighting systems locally, act as a ME for larger local shows, and occasionally travel for tradeshow and ballroom shows. The ideal candidate would be a strong team player, have the initiative to learn advanced console programming and CAD, and maintain a positive attitude regardless of the challenges we face on- and off-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and strike lighting
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of lighting console operation and the use of conventional, LED, and intelligent fixtures.
- Set up and ensure the safety of rigging systems used to hang AV equipment and décor.
- Work with sales team, Technical Producers, clients, and crew as needed to produce a lighting design for various spaces
- Work virtual and hybrid events from AVFX studios and on-site locations
- Responsible for packing and setting up events; this includes moving gear in and out of the warehouse and venues
- Responsible for packing shows for the lighting department
- Comply with all established procedures and regulations of the trade show industry
- Supervise installation of lighting equipment by on site Union and non-Union labor
- Keep warehouse storage areas neat and organized
- Submit expense reports within 48 hours of show completion
- Attended industry-related meetings, classes, and/or trade shows to expand your knowledge base, when time permits
- Assisting Equipment Manager in testing and sending out gear for repair, performing in house repairs when possible
- Adhere to safety protocols in-office and on-site
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management

- Familiarity with GrandMA2 and GrandMA dot2 lighting consoles
- Ability to read lighting plots and install systems as designed
Qualifications
- Experience working in the event technology and production services industry, with a concentration in corporate events and/or trade shows a plus
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly and unassisted
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- OSHA 10 certification will be required if hired
- Scissor lift certification process required if hired
- Experience with designing basic lighting systems for video
- Experience with VectorWorks is a plus
- Experience with Lightwright is a plus
- Experience with basic networking is a plus
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel to off-site and out-of-state locations

Compensation
- $30-$37/hr + overtime
