Audience attention spans are short and content-packed business presentations are a major challenge for meeting planners. AVFX offers a unique solution to the challenge of audience engagement for multi-day meetings.
Projection mapping can be used to change the environment for each presentation. Change the look for each meeting segment without moving any scenic elements. Projection mapping is a video technology used to turn objects, often irregularly shaped, into a display surface for video projection. Screens don’t have to be rectangles. By using specialized software, a two or three-dimensional object can be spatially mapped.
Using algorithms, which mimic the real environments, projectors can be programmed to precisely display on an irregularly shaped form. Any surface can become a dynamic video display. Several sources of video can come from a single projector.
MAPPING ON BOXES
Change the Stage 100 Times without Moving a Scenic element
For a recent three-day meeting, AVFX designed two matching scenic flats to frame a 30’ by 18’ central screen. The stage was made of simple cubes and flat surfaces covered with white fabric. This gave our team a giant canvas to create an immersive environment far more compelling than a typical three-screen show.
“How did they do that?” It’s an understatement to say that the presentations surprised the audience who had anticipated standard displays. Suddenly all of the surfaces could contribute to the story. The most exciting moment for us came during the Q&A segment when the CEO was asked, “How did they do that?” He paused for a moment and then pointed to the AVFX tech crew and said, “Ask them.”
