PechaKucha—Short and Bright

AVFX Boston was selected to provide audio visual services for this inaugural Executive Leadership Conference in Newport, Rhode Island. 250 senior managers from around the world attended the three-day meeting with the goal of integrating the strengths of two publicly-held life sciences companies.

20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each.

The event was unusual in many ways. The style and media format stood out from the MANY presentations we’ve seen.

The style of presentation used during this conference is called PechaKucha in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each. The format, which keeps presentations concise and fast-paced, powers multiple-speaker events and contributes to great energy and terrific engagement. (Wikipedia: PechaKucha is Japanese for chit-chat)

180 brilliant 3.9mil LED panels—10ft high by 50ft wide.

This format was followed with great discipline in all presentations. The PechaKucha approach worked well to connect the audience to images for deeper understanding. This technique allows the audience to focus on listening—not reading slides.

Our client wanted a media format that was big and bold enough to grab the audience and hold their attention from the opening session to the closing remarks. He had seen the best and brightest LED panels in the AVFX inventory, so he knew the presentations would be enhanced beyond expectation as speaker after speaker stood in front of 180 brilliant 3.9mil LED panels—formatted 10ft high by 50ft wide.

PRE-PRODUCTION TESTING: AVFX hosted a test for their marketing staff at our office to view their media in 32:9 format. We wanted to ensure that their presentations would look great in the ballroom. They were pleased and slept more soundly the night before the event.

Love that big beautiful image. Presenters feel even more confident when they see it.
