Since the beginning, AVFX has been pioneering technologies that soon become commonplace in the events and trade show world. Here is a brief look at AVFX - through the years.
1981 Media 1 is born.
1984 Media 1 grows into Media 1, Inc. As technology changes, Media 1, Inc. now leads the Northeast in offering multi-image slide technology.
1985 Media 1 Inc. is the first staging company to bring GE Light Valve Projectors to New England.
1987 With the introduction of Meiko Multi-Arts System, Media 1, Inc. is one of the first companies to bring video wall technology to the United States.
1989 One of the first companies to use the Electrosonic Picbloc 256 and then Picbloc 3 video wall systems.
1991 First staging company to bring the Barco 5000 Light Cannon to New England.
1991 First company to bring the Barco 8100 and 9200 projectors to the region.
1994 First to use small LCD screens for podium display. AVFX continues to maintain leadership position with plasma and other flat panel displays.
1996 One of the first staging companies to purchase the next generation of plasma panels, expanding the current inventory of plasma panels. We now have one of the largest inventories in the country - continually updated with the latest and greatest.
1997 Media 1, Inc. has outgrown itself and becomes AVFX, Inc.
1997 With a growing demand for the AVFX team to provide permanent installations, Install@fx becomes a new branch of the company.
1998 Again, we’re on the leading wave of technology, with the addition of Digital Projection’s incredible 8GV projectors.
1999 AVFX purchases Crest VX 40 Channel audio consoles, now allowing us to stage and mix concert level performances.
2000 DVD authoring system installed. AVFX can now author and program DVD’s to synchronize and repeat for flawless use in trade shows and other exhibition environments.
2000 The computer becomes the playback device & AVFX does it right with small for computers. (What do you need a big tower for?)
2002 AVFX moves into DVCam recording and playback. DVCam is a format that is growing in popularity.
2004 We are chosen to provide the 90’ screen and seamless projection for the Democratic National Convention in Boston.
2004 12,000 Lumen Projectors are added to our inventory for exceptional performance, resolution and light output.
2005 AVFX acquires the Meyer Line Array speakers system for a truly superior sound in larger venues.
2005 Custom shows are enhanced with expert use of new programming software Dataton Watchout.
2005 AVFX is the first company in the United States to introduce the Seamless Plasma Display. Innovative and versatile, they provide video wall abilities in a sleek plasma package.
